I've been reading various other blog's comments about the Segseat.
It's myth busting time children.
1.) I'm thin.
2.) I have what's called an incomplete spinal cord injury.
3.) My injury was caused by a renegade L.A.P.D. dectective,
from the Ramparts division, pursuing,( at high speed) a parole violater
who consequently ran a red light straight into me. He was charged only with hitting me.
4.) An incomplete spinal cord injury is considered "minor".
5.) A "minor" injury can completely ruin your life.
6.) It takes enormous discipline not to be bitter, to engage with life,
to insist upon remaining among people rather than withdrawing.
7.) I would give or do anything to have my life back.
8.) Only unfettered stem cell research offers the possibility of restoring the full use of my legs.
9.) The Segway/Segseat is the best solution for now.
Clear enough?
Good.
Great Blog!
I am 45 years old and have had a spinal cord related disability since I was eleven years old. I knew when I first saw a Segway that it could be life changing for me. Only problem was that I had to wait over 30 years to get one :)
I am happy for your new found freedom... I think I know exactly how you feel. I was overjoyed to be able to "walk" around my neighborhood for the first time since being a kid.

As a fellow Segseat owner, I thought you'd be amused with something I did about a year ago. Check out http://www.trailjournals.com/segway . This wouldn't have been possible without a segseat! Hopefully it'll inspire you to do even more with your Segseat.
Please keep updating this blog when you can. People are reading it. Also you may want to check out DRAFT and Segway Chat which together comprise the online segway community.

Hi Cathy,
Looking for info on the Segseat, I came across your blog and especially this one- "...myths" caught my attention. It's very true and I do understand. I'm an Incomplete Quad, 54 and 3 years into my new life and I have had a remarkable recovery, if so at a "glacial pace" ...
I'm sorry you stopped writing your Segseat blog...I understand why. Do you write somewhere else?

Well done blog. Level two spinal cord injury. Spinal cancer 20 years ago. Finally getting around to getting serious about off-road transportation. Have ordered my x2 and will try out your seat to see how it works.
