Do you know the party scene from "Breakfast at Tiffany's"?
The Warhol Factory-like underground loft bash in "Midnight Cowboy"?
We went to the opening party at MOCA last Saturday night for"WACK!: Art and the Feminist Revolution". Wow! Thousands of literally beautiful people, mostly young, expressively dressed, dancing and drinking while cel screens flashed in upraised waving arms.
A human kelp forest of glamorous ecstasy.
The show is a gargantuan international survey of Feminist Art with an emphasis on the 70's.
Great show, but this is not an art blog.
It was at the looser, larger, "Temporary Contemporary" now known as the Geffen. It's in Little Tokyo which is gorgeous at night wrapped in the L.A. skyline; especially seen from the center of a tidal wave of swirling, churning bodies in an outdoor lounge created just for one evening.
A mirage, it's L.A., we're a desert.
Yes, I did this with the Segway/Segseat.
